We are recruiting for an inspirational Principal to lead Goodwin Academy, which is an 11-16 co-educational school. This is an exciting opportunity to steer and build on the success of the Academy since it joined the Thinking Schools Academy Trust in 2018 and lead our Academy.

You will lead a dynamic senior leadership team in a school committed to investing in metacognition to transform the life chances of all of its students. You will play a key role in ensuring our students are actively engaged with school, making progress and are life-long learners.

Your new role:

  • You will drive success for all learners, motivating them to achieve aspirational goals
  • You will ensure that students from deprived backgrounds and SEND are supported in realising and achieving their potential
  • Be relentless in your drive to achieve the highest standards and expectations across the Academy
  • Be an effective role model and visible leader, with strong presence and influence
  • You will motivate staff to deliver thought-full and inspirational lessons, and to challenge and empower them to grow professionally and achieve high goals
  • Effectively engage with all stakeholders, including parents, the wider community and local primary schools
  • Be innovative and creative to enable the Academy to be the best educational environment possible for the children of Deal
  • Create a culture of aspiration and a supportive learning environment for students, that allows them to achieve their academic potential
  • You will have high levels of emotional intelligence and strong people skills and experience in leading teams
