Nonington CE Primary School requires a temporary teaching assistant, 29.25  hours per week term time only. The position will be temporary until August 2023 (this may be extended) as the role is linked to high needs funding. 

The role will involve both working with individual pupils with special educational needs and groups.

We are looking for someone to join our team with a passion for inclusion and supporting children to be the best they can be. Our ideal candidate is someone who is driven to improve the life outcomes of pupils with SEN through our Inclusive Learning Community, rooted in God. It is essential that applicants share this ethos and vision of the school.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience of working in a trauma informed school and experience of, or an interest in working closely with children with complex Special Needs including sensory needsand ASD.  

You must have:

  • GCSE English and Maths C or equivalent
  • A calm and flexible approach
  • Good understanding of ICT
  • Good understanding of school policies and procedures relating to health & safety, behaviour, attendance, equal opportunities and child protection.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, or experience of working with children

The Federation of Goodnestone and Nonington comprises of two small Church of England Primary Schools in neighbouring villages. Both schools retain their unique identities, under the leadership of one Governing Body and one Headteacher.

Nonington CE Primary School is a small rural primary school, close to Aylesham. The school has recently had a brand new 2 classroom extension. We benefit from extensive grounds in the quiet of the countryside which enables our children to experience learning opportunities in a wonderful, natural environment. The school has a small roll of 44 pupils, currently organised into three classes. We are proud of our inclusive culture and work hard to nurture and support all of those in our school community. Goodnestone CE Primary School is situated in a beautiful rural setting, with access to a fantastic woodland area which is used to support the children's learning. The school has a small roll of 54 pupils which is currently organised into four classes. We have a range of pupils with SEN and staff who are well placed to meet their needs. the inclusive ethos of the school ensures that all are nurtured and cared for.
