We are looking for somebody who understands that in an increasingly autonomous education system good governance is essential and good leadership is therefore paramount.

The post will require somebody who understands both the role and the responsibilities in ensuring the core governance functions are achieved by the governing board.

The role will require you to act as a trustee for FMAT and attend trust meetings.

We believe to fulfil the role effectively you will need to be committed, confident, challenging, collaborative, critical and creative all contributing to a hugely rewarding role.

The Governing Board are a dedicated team all working to support the school to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people in Swale.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy and can dedicate to, please get in contact.

Information about the school

South Avenue is a very popular two form entry primary school in Sittingbourne. It was formed in 2014 following the merger of the infant and junior schools, which occupy the same site, and is a member of Fulston Manor Academies Trust. The School has a wonderfully committed and supportive staff who work incredibly hard to ensure that our children get the very best from their education. Over the last few years, the school has achieved some fantastic improvements but still has a journey to travel on its road to building lasting and sustainable success..

Our school vision is We Discover, We Learn, We Grow. We aim to ensure every child is ready for a lifetime of learning and equipped for the real world. We strive to find those barriers to learning and support the children in a nurturing way.

There is a strong community feel about the school and we pride ourselves on looking not only to deliver a rich and balanced curriculum and providing pupils with the tools to learn, but also having a strong focus on the well-being of each child.
