Are you passionate about working in early years and on a 1:1 basis? Do you have a good knowledge of supporting children through continuous provision? If so, Luton Primary School could be for you! 
 

We are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year R.

This role will involve working with a child who has Down’s Syndrome. You will be supporting the child 1:1 as they embark on their learning journey as well as managing their learning difficulties and personal care.

Luton Primary School are very supportive and caring towards our staff and would provide training and guidance where needed by both SLT and school's SENCo. Both SLT and our SENCo have a wealth of experience working with a range of SEN needs and are well equipped provide the right tools for post.

A successful candidate will have experience working with children with SEN together with a firm understanding of the early years framework with a child-centred approach, will be a team player and will want to make a difference by supporting the pupil so they can achieve their full potential. 

We are looking for an individual who is nurturing, caring and passionate about education. An individual who is able to encourage the appropriate behaviour and attitude to enable the most effective learning and let's not forget, a sense of humour! 

Ideally, you will have experience of working with children in an educational setting - an NVQ level 3 or above - you will possess strong communication skills - patience and understanding of the way different children learn - commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 

This position is Monday to Friday, 31.25 hours per week (8.30am to 3.30pm with 45 minutes for lunch. term-time only). The contract being offered is a temporary contract to work alongside a pupil with a specific learning need.
