Hours: 4 hours per week (averaged), term time only.

We are seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Governors working on average 4 hours per week (term time only). You should have an excellent standard of numeracy, literacy and ICT skills along with an eye for detail. Duties of the role include draft agendas, take notes and produce detailed minutes of meetings, to maintain information on membership and advise the Governing Body on procedural and legislative matters.

This role would suit someone with expansive experience within a secretarial or office role that is looking for a few additional hours or who has retired from a similar role and wishes to work a few flexible hours.

Information about the school

STS is an 11 to 18, mixed, secondary school that has an excellent reputation across Kent where "Pupils engage well in learning. They enjoy their lessons and behave well. Pupils show respect for each other and value the work their teachers do to support them" (OFSTED May 2019).

The success of our students from Year 7 through to the Sixth Form is due to the ‘can do, will do’ attitude that is the hallmark of staff and students alike. At STS we ‘Hold fast that which is good’: a broad and engaging curriculum; interesting, inspiring and innovative classroom practice; as well as a whole host of enriching extra-curricular activity. Throughout their time at STS the students are provided with quality advice, support and guidance to help them progress and grow academically, personally and vocationally. We recognise and celebrate diversity and understand that a ‘one size fits all’ approach is inappropriate for the unique individuals we serve.
