Upland Primary School is an over-subscribed two-form entry primary school with a nursery in the heart of Bexleyheath.  Our school has a vibrant feel; we are proud of our happy, welcoming and positive atmosphere and our strong community links.  The exciting and innovative curriculum at Upland ensures that our children enjoy coming to school and have a real love of learning.  Our children are encouraged to become independent learners; we work together to build confidence and self-esteem, allowing children to explore different activities in a variety of ways. Our Ofsted inspection in January 2019 confirmed the previous grading of Good, with a recommendation for a section 5 inspection within 2 years, with a view to becoming Outstanding.

Your Opportunity

Cygnus Academies Trust and Upland’s Local Governing Committee are seeking to appoint an exceptional and inspiring leader to the position of Headteacher of Upland Primary School.

The Headteacher will work with staff, governors and the Trust to deliver the school’s strategic developments by building on the school’s strong foundations and delivering the vision of a high-performing, safe and nurturing environment where all pupils are valued equally and encouraged to become independent learners and critical thinkers.

We are looking for a Headteacher who is:

  • able to demonstrate significant impact in a leadership role within a primary school;
  • a leader who can inspire and motivate staff, children and parents;
  • passionate about each child being given the opportunity and means to reach their full potential; and
  • able to articulate a clear vision and set the strategic direction for the school.

Our new Headteacher will have the opportunity to lead a school community that is caring, supportive and committed to our pupils. We are looking for a leader with ambition, determination and creativity who would relish the opportunity of working in a supportive and outward facing multi academy trust.
