Job Description

Due to a successful expansion of our school, we are looking to employ a Speech and Language Therapist to work full-time - term time plus 70 Inset hours.  Monday to Friday 8:45am – 3:45pm. The post will cover  Ripple, Broadstairs and Trinty School and College in Rochester.

We are looking for an innovative and passionate SaLT specialist with at least 12 months of experience who is looking for an exciting post in a well-established Independent school. You will be responsible for assisting in leading and overseeing the SaLT provision throughout the school sites, from primary aged children through to Post 16. You will be a self-starter working as part of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for the delivery of the SaLT and communication initiatives. You will monitor and report on the SaLT provision for individuals and groups of pupils and ensure that you take the lead in identifying any support or training requirements to support the highest standard of SaLT delivery. You will demonstrate initiative and drive to facilitate the best outcomes for all our pupils, families and carers.

We would ideally like someone with experience working in a school setting or with a paediatric population, but will consider recently qualified therapists if you have other relevant experience.

Information about the school

Ripplevale School is an independent day special school for pupils aged from 6 to 18 years old who have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) with a diagnosis of ASD, often with associated conditions.

Ripplevale School is situated over two sites. Ripplevale Lower School is situated in Broadstairs, teaching a Primary provision and Ripplevale Upper School is based in the village of Ripple near Deal, for our Secondary and Post 16 provision.

We have a committed and dedicated team which includes teachers, teaching assistants, higher level teaching assistants, a range of therapists, administrative staff and support staff. All play a significant role in the education and development of each pupil and work to create a warm, informal, friendly atmosphere in which the pupils feel secure, safe and confident.
