Singlewell Primary School is seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Governors working 3.25 hours per week, term time only. The post holder will provide advice and guidance on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, and ensure that the work of the Governing Body conforms to the responsibilities assigned by the School. Duties of the role include draft agendas, take notes and produce detailed minutes of meetings, to maintain information on membership and advise the Governing Body on procedural and legislative matters.

There are 3 Full Governing Body meetings across the academic year and 3 Committee meetings.  The Clerk is to attend the 3 Full Governing Body Meetings and occasional attendance at Committee meetings.  The Full Governing Body meetings are held during the school day.  The schedule of meetings is agreed at the start of each academic year providing plenty of notice for the Clerk and Governors.

Singlewell school has a warm, family feel and is situated in a pleasant, leafy site on the outskirts of Gravesend. The school has been expanded to two form entry from September 2016 and had a new building constructed. We are now at full capacity with two classes in each year group from Reception through to Year 6. All classes have support assistants. We are very lucky to have modern buildings and facilities and spacious grounds.

Our Ofsted inspection recognised that Singlewell is a Good school. Progress and attainment are high across the school and teaching is good. It stated that attendance is high, behaviour is good and children enjoy coming to school. Pupils are eager to learn and work enthusiastically together. There are very positive relationships between pupils and staff.
