Our learning support team is expanding! We have a fantastic opportunity to appoint a bubbly, flexible and energetic Learning Support Assistant to start as soon as possible. The main purpose of the role is to support the students to learn and the teacher to teach as effectively as possible.

Ideally, the successful applicant will hold a Learning Support qualification however this is not essential as training can be provided. Duties include but are not limited to:

To establish a supportive relationship with the students by:

  • Developing an in-depth understanding of the students’ SEN in order to assist them in their learning;
  • clarifying and explaining instructions;
  • ensuring students are able to use the equipment and materials provided;
  • promoting self-esteem through encouragement and motivation;
  • assisting students where difficulties are experienced (language, behaviour, reading, spelling, writing etc) whilst also encouraging independence;
  • helping students to concentrate and finish work set.

To assist the class teacher by:

  • assessing the progress of students;
  • helping with the planning and preparation of lessons;
  • providing regular feedback about the students

Other duties include:

  • to assist the SENCo with the statutory annual review of students EHCPs.
  • To liaise, advise and consult with other members of staff as appropriate so we can provide the best support possible to our students.

Infiniti School is an independent special school based in the beautiful village of Doddington, nr. Sittingbourne, Kent. We work with students in key stages 3, 4 and 5 who have SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, as well as other associated difficulties and challenging behaviour. We have a broad and balanced curriculum with individual pathways for each student, with a focus on sport and outdoor education.

We offer therapeutic input alongside our academic and vocational courses, to help our students remove barriers to learning and become successful in and out of school.
