Advert

We are seeking two full-time Teaching Assistants to join our hard working, committed team. These Year 2 and Year 5 posts also involves a lunchtime supervision role. Could this be you?

*We also have a TA relief bank...see bottom of this advert for details.*

For both full-time roles, we are looking for someone who has proven experience and training in supporting pupils with complex needs. The role will involve supporting the learning of basic skills, Speech and Language interventions, motor skills interventions etc. An understanding of successful strategies for supporting children with SEN needs such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia would be beneficial. The role will include supporting key children in small groups to access the curriculum and also to undertake interventions within the classroom and across the year group

Are you flexible in your thinking, adaptable and experienced in running interventions? Are you patient, with a good understanding of the needs of pupils with SEN? Is the wellbeing of children a priority in your approach to learning support? If so, then we would welcome your application.

*We are also seeking to increase our number of relief Teaching Assistants who would be called in to cover at short notice for absent staff members. Please indicate on your application if this is the post you are interested in applying for.*

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and an offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

The successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Have relevant qualifications or experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent standard in English and Maths.
  • Be strong communicators who enjoy building relationships with children, parents and carers.
  • Support the child first, pupil second ethos which underpins our school.
  • Be good team players, flexible and prepared to use their initiative.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Be someone who enjoys working with children and is fun to work with!
  • Be imaginative, creative, very energetic and prepared to work outside, whatever the weather!

The hours will be all day: 08:30 to 15:15 includes a 15-minute break and 30 minutes for lunch.

*The relief bank appointments are for a zero hours contract where work will be offered as and when relief support is required. We anticipate that this will mean working most weeks as we have a large number of Teaching Assistants who we may need to cover. We are offering the opportunity to work in a very supportive atmosphere, and learn from a whole range of different experiences, age groups and roles, as you will be covering across the school from Reception to Year 6, which will be excellent for your future CV, which, who knows, might be for a regular role at Swalecliffe. *
