The Governing Body of St Thomas' Catholic Primary School (Voluntary Aided) are looking to recruit a new Caretaker for our 'Outstanding' school (Ofsted, Jan 2016 and S48 RE Inspection, Mar 2017).

St Thomas’ Catholic Primary School are look to appoint somebody who can help to look after our school building and site. The successful candidate will be somebody who takes extreme pride in helping to keep the school, both inside and out, in immaculate condition.

The Caretaker will play a crucial role within the school as it embarks upon an exciting journey to redevelop the school site in a number of ways.

This key role has many aspects but will include the following:

  • Site security and safety
  • Out of hours key holder
  • Locking and unlocking
  • General repairs and maintenance
  • Health and Safety
  • Cleaning
  • Grounds maintenance.

The hours of work will be 40 hours per week (this is negotible at interview) for 52 weeks per year. This includes 24 days annual leave – to be taken during school holidays in agreement with their line manager.

St Thomas' Catholic Primary School is a Voluntary-Aided school (we are not part of a multi-academy trust).

We are a dedicated and committed team of staff who enjoy close links with our parents and the church. We often refer to ourselves as a 'school family', committed to academic quality, personal and spiritual development and high standards of behaviour and respect in a caring environment.

We are a one-form entry school and currently have a roll of 210 pupils, organised into 7 year groups, Foundation Stage through to Year 6.
