Sussex Road Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Forest School Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team. All our children access Forest School throughout the year.  Our Forest School Leader ensures our outdoor provision builds resilience, problem solving and team work skills in our children.  Our school values are embedded in our Forest School ethos.  Whether it be beautiful sunshine or pouring with rain, our Sussex Roaders are outside.  If you love to be outside, this is the role for you!  Although we are still finalising the Job Description, main duties will include supporting the Forest School Leader in planning Forest School sessions, preparing and maintaining tools and equipment, supporting children in developing metacognition skills and ensuring the natural envionment is sustained.

We welcome applications from either qualified teaching assistants, experienced teaching assistants or from those who are just starting out on their teaching assistant career. We also welcome any 'future teachers' who would like to get experience in a school setting. 

GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C in Maths and English is essential for this post. You will also need to have excellent time management skills, ability to work using your own initiative and a sense of humour!

The post is for 28.75 hours between 8.45am and 3.15pm. This includes 30 minutes of lunch time supervision. 

Information about the school

Our popular, heavily over-subscribed school, which has 420 children on roll, is located near to the town centre of Tonbridge, about 5 minutes walk from the main line railway station.

We have 14 classes from Reception through to Year 6.

Our children are friendly and engaging; they are keen to learn and a pleasure to teach.
