Iwade School has an opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with responsibility for Outdoor Learning in Early Years to join our dedicated team. The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering outdoor provision for children in Early Years. You will be required to set up learning areas, maintain a positive environment, lead intervention groups and support children in class as required, working in partnership with class teachers and other teaching assistants.

This is a part-time permanent appointment , 27 hours a week, (8:45 - 3:15  with one afternoon off per week), term time only (38 weeks and 2 days per year).

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to plan, with support, deliver and measure impact of outdoor learning interventions
  • Be able to motivate and work with children
  • Be proactive and build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Have a love of working with children and the ability to inspire learning and support development.
  • Have an understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Curriculum (would be an advantage)
  • Have high expectations of yourself and of children
  • Have a good standard of education together with good numeracy and literacy skills and English and Maths GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and a be good team player
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have flexibility

Information about the school

The Timu Academy Trust is made up of two schools, Bobbing Village and Iwade School, both are based in Sittingbourne, Kent. Iwade School is a three form entry school and Bobbing School is a one form entry school. Currently rated by Ofsted as Good (Iwade) and Outstanding (Bobbing). Each school has its own individual characteristics and sits at the centre of their community.

Both schools are geographically near each other and so the staff are easily able to work closely together which they do with great effect "Together Everyone Achieves More".
