Please note that this would be open as an apprenticeship post, however this would involve different terms and salary and would be full time hours.  Please do contact us if this would be of interest to you.

We require self-motivated candidates who will work as part of a team with the Site Manager, part-time caretakers and contract cleaners to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the pupils and staff. The successful candidate will report to the Site Manager.

The work will involve all aspects of caretaking, cleaning and facilities management. The position is physical in nature and includes working outside. You should therefore, be comfortable lifting furniture and equipment to statutory limits although the necessary manual handling training will be provided.

The position is a permanent contract, working 52 weeks per year.  Hours of work can be flexible and discussed at interview.  These could be 6.30 - 10am, 3 - 6.30pm or a combination of both.

As an employee of the Coppice Primary Partnership Trust, although your usual place of work will be Loose Primary School, you may be asked to work at other locations within the Trust upon reasonable notice being given and by mutual agreement.

In addition to the hours stated, you might be required to work some evenings / weekends as agreed, for which overtime payment will be made.

Salary: KR3, £19,293 FTE (paid pro-rata, equivalent to £10 per hour) with allocated 26 days holiday which can be taken at any time, although ideally in term time.

As an employee of Coppice Primary Partnership, you would be entitled to priority child places within the school as well as free extended services provision.

The school is fully committed to the safeguarding of children, therefore all staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check by the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks.

Applications via the online application form please.

Information about the school

Loose Primary School is part of a friendly community, situated on the outskirts of Maidstone. Together with Coxheath Primary School and St Katherine's Primary School and Nursery, it is a member of the Coppice Primary Partnership which is providing many exciting career opportunities for staff to explore.

We have very high expectations for pupil outcomes and support staff with many professional development opportunities to help secure the very best provision for every child. We are committed to working collaboratively with other schools and a Leadership Pathways programme exists for all members of staff with career development opportunities to explore.

The school was judged by Ofsted as outstanding in November 2016 and is popular and oversubscribed. We have highly motivated and well-behaved children and supportive parents. Teachers plan and monitor work together in and across year group teams offering mutual support and exchange of ideas. An effective induction process exists for new staff offering a mentor for the first year.

We value sporting activities highly and have extensive grounds and our own indoor swimming pool. We compete successfully with other local schools in a wide range of sports and in local and county tournaments. The children swim all year round, taught by qualified swimming coaches, and all leave the school able to swim well.
