We are looking to appoint a Early Years/Nursery Assistant to join our strong and committed team in our Early Year and Year 1 team. The post will see you supporting children both in our Year 1 class and Nursery. The role will be split between supporting children on a 1:1 in the Year 1 class with personal care and then the Nursery. Bapchild and Tonge CE (Aided) Primary School took over the Nursery in January 2021.This is a great opportunity for someone to make a real contribution to our Nursery and Year 1 children with our bespoke curriculum that fosters a love of play, learning and a passion for investigation and enquiry. 

You will be passionate about working with children, watching them develop under your care and looking to continue your career. We are looking for someone who is child centred with a minimum Level 3 qualification in NVQ/Early Years education or equivalent.

Working hour are between 7.45 - 1.45pm Monday to Friday and term-time only.

Pay will be split between four hours paid at Kent Range 3 (£18,618) and two hours at Kent Range 5 (£19,915 - £21,207). The two hours at Kent Range 5 recognise the personal care element of the role.

Information about the school

Bapchild and Tonge CE (Aided) Primary School and Nursery is a one form entry through primary school with 211 pupils currently on roll and a popular Nursery with up to 24 places per session. The School took over the Nursery in January 2021 and has been working hard to invest in new toys, resources and improve the room environment. The school is on the outskirts of Sittingbourne and part of the Rural Swale Collaboration Group (RSCG) of schools. Parents and children describe the school as having a friendly atmosphere and our pupils enjoy coming to school. Our Ofsted inspection (July 2019) said that the school is good and commented that there 'is a strong sense of community which permeates the school, providing care and support for pupils, their families and staff'. SIAMS in February, 2017 graded us as Outstanding overall.
