ATTENDANCE OFFICER AND HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT:

We believe that great attendance at school is the key, not just to a good education, but also to richer life choices and improved wellbeing. As a result, we have a dedicated role in school for someone who wants to make a difference to children's life chances and really believes in school attendance. The succesful candidate will be someone who drives things forwards, solves problems and takes a stand over what is right.

We are looking for a person of excellent ability who isn’t afraid to have tough conversations and bring about changes with parents, but who is also kind and caring towards our children.  We need to make sure our children are in school every day, on time.  You will be on hand to meet with late families each day and provide support to ensure that their lateness improves, monitor attendance and work with other professionals in school to formulate plans to support children’s attendance for targeted families and take a proactive role in ensuring that attendance improves.

You will be also be responsible for overseeing health and first aid provision for our children which can be anything from a bumped knee to administering prescription medication or sorting out children who have had ‘an accident’.  During emergencies, you will work alongside other members of staff to deal with it appropriately.  Patience, kindness and sometimes tough love are essential!

The hours for this role are 8:15 - 3:35 Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch, 38 weeks per year (term time). This starting time is not flexible but there may be some flexibility with the lunchtime and finish time.  it is not possible to do this job on a part time or job share basis.

Experience of working within a school environment would be an advantage but we are looking for an attitude and aptitiude rather than prior experience.

If you would like further information or a conversation about the role, please contact Joanna Styles, Headteacher on 01732 354325.

Full details of the requirements of the post can be found in the accompanying job description and person specification.

Early applications are encouraged and Cage Green reserves the right to close the vacancy if the right candidate is found.

Applications should be made via Kent Teach. Please note, we cannot accept CVs.
