We are excited to be able to advertise for the position of 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our highly collaborative and supportive team - we are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience in supporting a KS2 child who has previously been in care and has needs around attachment and Language & Communication.

Our TA’s are pivotal to our success in the classroom and provide a great deal of support for our teachers; therefore our successful candidates will be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and pupils alike.

Key responsibilities:

  • to work under the direction of the class teacher and Head of Inclusion, who will provide a supportive network and provide guidance and training as needed,
  • to work on a 1:1 basis with a specific pupil on a daily basis and where necessary, 
  • provide wider support to the class teacher in the teaching and welfare of children to attain the outcomes set within the Personalised Education Plan/ Provision Map.

Your hours of work will be 18.5 hours per week, term time only. The post is fixed-term, as it is dependent upon the named pupil’s continued attendance at this school and funding.

St Nicholas CE Primary Academy, as part of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust, is situated in the heart of New Romney, set in beautiful surroundings, and is well resourced to meet the needs of its 14 classes and 370 children, in this well-maintained school judged Good with Outstanding features by OFSTED (May 2019).
