Advert

Due to expansion and swift growth, we are looking to appoint a learning support assistant who has experience of working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties in our beautiful rurally located school. The role will involve assisting in a range of subjects and leading a range of activities - the exact combination is flexible and may include functional skills.

We are looking for a passionate and committed learning support assistant to support our KS3, KS4 and KS5 students in small groups. You will be an outstanding practitioner; resilient and positive in your interactions with young people even when met with challenging behaviour. You will be creative in assisting teaching staff with planning and delivery of lessons. Supporting students through differentiated tasks, ensuring all of our students can access a high quality of education regardless of their age, ability or needs. You will be flexible, adaptable, and happy working as part of a dedicated team in an ever changing and fast-moving environment.

Previous work with young people who have experienced trauma would be advantageous but not essential.

Most importantly, you will be someone whose underlying beliefs about the purpose of education is to educate the whole child and offer the most vulnerable children the best opportunities in life. We have high expectations of our students, which are based on in-depth knowledge of them and their individual needs.

We have a comprehensive professional development and training programme and are supportive of further education and study.

The closing date for this advert is 22nd July but we reserve the right to close the advert sooner if we find a suitable candidate.

Please note this will be subject to receipt of satisfactory references and an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check - cost will be met by the employer.
