Turner Schools have an exciting opportunity available for an ambitious and motivated individual looking to be part of our team of tutors supporting students in closing the gap in attainment following school closures. We are unashamedly ambitious for what every child in our care can achieve and our Turner Tutoring Team will reflect these values, offering high quality tutoring through Direct Instruction and research-informed practice. This is a dynamic and flexible role with a real opportunity to make a difference to the students that need it most through providing small group intervention for English and Maths, delivering a highly structured programme of intervention. Successful candidates will complete an extensive programme of training before beginning the role. Although experience in schools or QTS is desirable, we would also welcome applications from graduates, TAs, or HLTAs who may be looking to teach in the future or would like to focus their expertise on small-group intervention work.

The ideal candidates will...

  • be dedicated to improving pupil progress and raising attainment
  • value our warm-strict environment
  • engage with a highly structured, research-informed approach to intervention
  • be reflective and keen to learn, taking on and responding to regular feedback
  • be excited to work with our young people across our two secondary schools to help them achieve their best

In return, we can offer...

  • fabulous students who work hard and who want to learn
  • a dedicated team leader to support you throughout your time working with us
  • a warm and welcoming team of teachers and associate staff, who are always willing to go above and beyond to support our students, and one another
  • extensive training in using the Direct Instruction programme of intervention
  • a personalised coaching and CPD programme alongside an investment in your career and development through training and support
  • manageable workload through sensible and efficient policies
  • the opportunity to train with us as a teacher from September 2021, if desired
  • a genuine opportunity to make a difference and be part of our continuing journey by being part of our exciting and crucial new provision
