Illuminate Minds is looking to appoint a well organised, efficient and enthusiastic Trust Governance Professional and Compliance Lead who will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer across the trust. The Trust Governance Professional and Compliance Lead will be able to provide impartial advice to the Trust on governance, constitutional and procedural matters whilst undertaking effective clerking and administrative support for the Trust Board and its Committees.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they can be exceptionally well organised with superb communication skills, be able to relate well to both adults and young people and demonstrate commitment to contributing to the achievement of the Trust’s mission statement. Working hours will be in the region of 70 hours per year, based on attendance at 16 meetings per year, preparation time and follow up. A calendar of meetings is published in advance and is available on request, however meetings are typically scheduled during the school day and are term time only. However, a flexible approach to working hours is essential as successful candidates may be required to service additional meetings in order to meet the governance needs of our Trust and its academies (Disciplinary Committees, Admissions Panels, Complaints Panels, HR Hearings).

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be confident in their approach and demonstrate high levels of attention to detail. The role will require flexibility and use of initiative often within tight timescales, in a fast-paced environment.
