Leigh Primary School is seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher from 1st September 2022

Leigh Primary is a community school in the picturesque village of Leigh. We are at a very exciting stage in our journey after an Ofsted inspection in September 2021 highlighted some important areas for development. A new senior leadership team has been in place for a year and alongside a passionate team of teaching and support staff have implemented significant change. Therefore, we are looking for an innovative, reflective and dynamic Deputy Headteacher to help drive improvement alongside our Senior Leadership Team. We are looking for someone to work in partnership with the Headteacher, share in the collective and progressive school vision and making a strong contribution to future developments.  We have an experienced team of staff who are loyal, hardworking and always willing to go the extra mile.  Children are at the heart of what we do and every decision that is made. Could you be our new Deputy Headteacher?

We are looking for a person who: -

  • Is excited to work collaboratively with the Headteacher and wider team to lead strategic school improvement
  • Has substantial recent senior leadership experience and leading aspects of whole school improvement
  • Can demonstrate impact of work to develop distributed leadership
  • Understands and can analysis data effectively to drive improvement
  • Can model excellent teaching
  • Has high expectations of staff, children and themselves and is an excellent role model
  • Has a passion for raising standards and attainment
  • Has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
  • Has demonstrated their ability to lead and motivate others
  • Stay calm, adapt and demonstrate resilience whilst keeping a sense of humour, even when you are under pressure
  • Be a trustworthy member who brings out the best in others and creates a sense of togetherness by encouraging mutual respect, confidentiality and through demonstrating high standards of professional behaviour
  • Is innovative and open to new ways of thinking when implementing change
