The PA to Headteacher is a core member of the school office.  Their primary role is to provide admin support to the Senior Leadership Team within set deadlines, be responsible for responding to a wide range of enquiries via our school inboxes, support the general administration in the school office.  Previous experience working in a similar role and school environment is desirable.

The role is 37 hours per week 41 weeks per year (2 being in the school holiday) and the hours are Monday to Thursday 8.15am – 4.45pm and Friday 8.15am – 4.15pm.

The school is a very busy environment, with no two days being the same; the post holder must have excellent written and spoken communication skills, be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while ensuring work remains accurate.

The postholder will interact with every level of the school community, from pupils and staff to parents and governors, therefore they must be articulate and presentable.

Additionally, the post holder will answer phone calls, welcome visitors at reception and assist with the daily routines of the school office.

Amongst other things the ideal candidate should demonstrate:

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage challenging issues with staff, parents and students.

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to include time management.
  • Able to work as part of a team but also confident in working individually without close supervision demonstrating initiative and proactivity.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and discretion in all communication with the school community and stakeholders.
  • Experience in using or managing Arbor or a similar database would be advantageous.
