We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has a drive to make a positive difference to our learners, recognising their individual qualities and strengths. This role will involve working in our classes or with groups to support children in their learning, personal and social development. It would be beneficial if you have some experience working in a pastoral role supporting children with their social and emotional needs, but this is not essential.

As well a leading intervention groups, the successful candidate will have the skills, initiative and flexibility to provide appropriate support to meet children’s needs, supporting their aspirations and helping them to achieve. They will have a positive, professional and flexible outlook, putting the child at the centre of their work.

 

Minimum qualification:

· 5 GCSE grades C/4 or above, including English and Maths; or Cache Diploma in Childcare, Learning and Development Level 4, or minimum qualification of NVQ L3.

 

The contract is for 10 hours per week, [with a preference for 2 hours per day, for discussion at interview] 39 weeks a year, term time only. This contract would be temporary for a year in the first instance.

There may be the opportunity for additional hours as an After School Club Assistant for one afternoon a week, or to cover occasional absence in our small, friendly ‘wrap around care’ provision.

Lydden Primary School is a small rural village school catering for approximately 80 children between the ages of 4-11. Children learn in our four classes.
