Advert

We wish to appoint an excellent and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team for September 2022. We are looking for a TA with flexibility, experience in learning support and the ability to contribute to our school’s community and vision. The successful applicant will be sensitive to children’s varying needs, but be able to work under the guidance of the teaching team, SENCo and Leadership Team.

Applicants should preferably be qualified to NVQ Level 2, and have good knowledge of the development and learning styles of children and special educational needs. A knowledge of and experience of techniques and resources for working with pupils with speech and language needs and ASD is essential.

The TA could be based in EYFS, Key Stage 1 or 2 depending on their strengths and will cover lunch duty. The post will be for 31.25 hours a week. This is a permanent role.

This role would be ideal if you were looking at School Direct teacher training as an option in the future as we have non-salaried places through EKLA and Christ Church each year. You could get to know our team and whether teaching was the way forward for you in a freindly and supportive environment. Alternatively, if you are seeking a teaching assistant role without these aspirations then we would welcome these applicants too.

For an informal chat about the position and more information please telephone Mrs Kristina Dyer (Head teacher) on 01227 464392 or email headteacher@st-peters-canterbury.kent.sch.uk

St Peter’s Methodist School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and satisfactory references.
