Swale Academies Trust

Role: Chief Executive Officer

Location: South East

Start date: January 2023

Salary: Competitive

Our current CEO has decided to step down from the role after establishing Swale Academies Trust as a highly consistent and effective school improvement service over the past twelve years.

During this time the Trust has transformed the educational provision of nineteen schools thereby improving outcomes and experiences of thousands of students. We find ourselves in the fortunate position to be highly popular amongst parents, with a very healthy financial position and dedicated and skilled workforce.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity. We are looking to appoint an experienced and inspiring individual to guide our executive leadership team through the next phase of the Trust's development.

As well as being a qualified and experienced professional, you will have an excellent understanding of how complex multi-academy trusts operate within the ever evolving educational and political landscape, engaging with our stakeholders, communities, and partners.

We now need to look for an equally talented and inspirational leader with the passion and drive to take us on to the next stage of our evolution without losing sight of the values which got us to where we are now. If you think that this might be you, please do get in contact.

Full details of the requirements of the post can be found in the accompanying applicant pack.

For more information about this exciting opportunity, please contact our recruitment partner Caroline Olsen on colsen@academicis.co.uk or 07500 889504.

Closing date: Noon, Monday 13th June 2022

Shortlisting: Thursday 16th June 2022

Information about the trust

Since its creation in September 2010 Swale Academies Trust has become a strong and successful school improvement service, specialising in taking schools in Ofsted category and turning them into good schools. A glance at the most recent Ofsted reports for Westlands Primary School, Meopham School, The North School, Regis Manor School and The Sittingbourne School, will all point to the effectiveness of the Trust in bringing about change and providing and enabling excellent leadership. First and foremost Swale Academies Trust is about the provision and development of high quality leadership and management.

We don’t seek to develop clone schools that deliver education in a regimented manner. Rather, we value the development in our schools of a spirit of enquiry and action research that provides the best possible education that is right for pupils in a local setting. We do however collectively value and strive for all pupils to produce beautiful work which showcases their development over time of which they, their teachers and support staff and parents can be really proud. We are proud of our schools and we strive for a sense of shared pride in the achievements of all of our students.

Our ambition is driven by enabling schools and children to succeed. We have a wide range of excellent and highly accomplished senior leaders who lead with a sense of purpose, charisma and a set of shared values. The Trust is fortunate to be overseen by a Board of Directors who share leaders’ values and who provide the highest quality challenge and support.
