We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced SENCO to support our students and work alongside teachers, support staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure the needs of students are met.

 

All 80 students on roll have an EHC plan with SEMH or Autism as their main SEN. Most have additional associated diagnosed and undiagnosed needs. All have a broadly average cognitive profile with behaviour presenting as the biggest barrier to accessing education.

 

You will be expected to become the lead DSL of the school and have responsibilities for our Children in Care and those who need access to other services or provisions from time to time. Also, liaise with Form tutors to monitor and oversee all Annual Reviews.

 

It is essential that have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs associated with student who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and or Autism and experience of working successfully with other agencies to help these children achieve positive outcomes. A high proportion of our children are eligible for pupil premium.
