Broomhill Bank School is seeking an outstanding Outdoor Learning teacher to build upon our existing Forest School and Life Skills programme. 

A suitable candidate will have knowledge of outdoor learning practices and have the ability to develop a rolling programme of lessons and interventions to support our cohort of young people.

An interest in the Duke of Edinburgh Award or the ability to deliver Food Technology would be an advantage for this role, but not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team to lead the development of Forest School and Outdoor Learning at our North Site in Hextable.

We already have a flourishing provision at our West Site in Tunbridge Wells and the successful candidate will work closely with this established team.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the outdoors and able to motivate our young people to engage in their learning in innovative ways.

We want to create a fun, engaging, stimulating and supportive environment that works in conjunction with our classroom-based teaching to develop all our young people.

We are looking for someone who ideally has a qualification in Forest School or in another area of Outdoor Provision. An interest in delivering the Duke of Edinburgh award would be beneficial.

We welcome applications from either Primary or Secondary, Special or Mainstream. We just need you to be passionate about supporting young people. We will provide a programme of specialist training and induction so that you quickly feel part of our team.

Broomhill Bank School is a co-educational Foundation Special School for students with Communication and Interaction needs who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Our educational provision is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and our residential provision is rated ‘Outstanding’. We work to prepare our students for life, through academic achievement, therapeutic provision to ensure their well-being and by being part of the wider community.

There are two sites. Broomhill Bank West is in Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells. Broomhill Bank North is in Hextable near Swanley. Our North site has bespoke residential provision and semi-independent living accommodation.

Students are taught in small classes of 8-10 according to level of need, with lessons led by subject specialist teachers. We facilitate students to learn as independently as possible. Across Key Stage 4 and 5 students can undertake a variety of accredited qualifications including GCSE, Entry Level and Functional Skills. Our Sixth Form focuses students on preparation for life so that alongside academic achievement they can develop the life and work-related skills which will be vital to their future independence and self-sufficiency.
