Parental Leave cover for Deputy Headteacher

(Secondment considered)

We are looking for an aspirational Assistant Head Teacher or existing Deputy Head who would like to be part of our leadership team whilst our current Deputy Head Teacher is on parental leave.

Our school values of Care, Learn and Forgive are felt throughout the school. As a key member of the senior leadership team you would also be supported under these values.

CARE:

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, energetic, enthusiastic, kind and caring to collaborate with our amazing team, who will mentor teachers and support staff to ensure that they fulfil their potential. As a non-class based deputy you will support our ethos of inclusion and our drive to support one another.

LEARN:

As part of the role there will be a whole school responsibility for curriculum development and safeguarding alongside our Head Teacher. As one of our designated safeguarding team you will work with others to ensure our pupils are safe.

We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to ‘live life in its fullness’ and we aim to nurture individuals. You will champion our children and work with families to ensure that we can give everyone the best opportunity to succeed.

The role is non-class based but there is an expectation of teaching across the school as required, to demonstrate best practice.

FORGIVE:

We believe that a large part of learning is taking learning risks. Our children know this and will try most things. We want staff members to try new things too and rather than fear, know they are trusted.

If you would like to join our team, have a look round or talk the post through please contact headteacher@platt.kent.sch.uk to discuss further.

We are a team who support and encourage each other's development to ensure that the children have the best education they can whilst they are with us.

A handover with the substantive Deputy Head Teacher before their parental leave is expected.

The post is subject to the appropriate safeguarding checks including those required for safer recruitment.

Information about the school

We are a small, one form entry community church of England school made up of 180 kind, motivated and excited learners. Our vision is based on the parable of the mustard seed in that we aim for all children to grow, flourish and be responsible and reflective individuals. The staff at our school are valued and are expected to embrace our Christian vision and the values of Care – Learn – Forgive. Our children are confident and proud of their school and belonging to it. We believe education should not only equip children academically and emotionally but provide memories and shape our children to 'live life in all its fullness' (John 10:10).

We moved into our beautiful new school building in September 2021 and you will be part of growing our site and our learning community.
