Kennington CE Academy is seeking to appoint a substantive Headteacher to lead the team from 1st January 2023 or earlier as a co-headship.

  • Is an experienced Headteacher who can lead the school into the next Ofsted inspection and beyond.
  • Has high expectations of staff, children and themselves
  • Has a passion for raising standards and attainment
  • Will work effectively with the feeder infant school
  • Has an engaging style and motivates staff and pupils
  • Has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
  • Has demonstrated their ability to lead others at senior leadership level
  • Has a proven track record in whole school improvement as a Head Teacher.
  • Has lead a school through an Ofsted inspection
  • Is an excellent role model for staff and pupils within the school.
  • Is an excellent communicator
  • Is committed to developing and enhancing the distinctively Christian ethos of the school
  • Encourages a whole school approach to improvement

Kennington CE Academy is 3 form entry (12 classes) for Key stage 2 of 360 pupils, situated in North Ashford and serving a mixed community of children who are enthusiastic about learning and their school.

We have strong relationships with our feeder Infant school, Downs View and The Towers, our nearest high school. Our church school status has led us to develop close links with the local parish church. We are sponsored by Aquila, the Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk)

Kennington CE Academy is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all trustees, staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
