We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our lovely team of staff. Ideally this will be a full-time position (32.5 hours a week), however we are willing to consider part-time for the right applicant. We can be flexible over whether this is a KS1 or a KS2 position. This will initially be on a one year contract, but with the possibility of it becoming permanent.

Applicants should have a good level of Maths and English, with GCSE grades C or above. Experience of working in a school would be beneficial.

As a school we are passionate about the Mental health and Wellbeing and our pupils, staff and families. We are looking for someone who will share our ethos and contribute to making our school the happy and safe place it is.

If you think you have the skills that we are looking for we would be delighted to show you round and talk to you.

Information about the school

Hawkhurst is a single form entry primary school in a modern building. The school benefits from spacious classrooms and plentiful resources with exciting school grounds, incorporating a secret garden, an adventure playground, a Forest School, a pond area and a large sports field. Our last Ofsted inspection (November 2017) graded us as Good with Outstanding for EYFS. Community involvement is considerable with after school clubs and a breakfast club, together with close links with the parish church of St Laurence, Hawkhurst. Our pupils are eager to learn and succeed. Our goal is to EXTEND HORIZONS for everyone and this is achieved through plenty of trips to places of interest and visits from outside speakers, as well as the opportunity to participate in sports tournaments and events. We have a specialist teacher of Music and Physical Education and many children learn a musical instrument and pupils show enjoyment in their playing and singing. This year our main focus has been on the Mental Health and Wellbeing of our pupils, staff and parents and we run our own Emotional Wellbeing Pathway which provides support on a range of levels to our whole school community. We are incredibly proud of the work we are doing through this pathway and the impact it is having. The staff team is friendly and caring. We encourage professional development in areas that will enhance the professional skills of our teachers as well as support staff and improve the aims of the school. Prospective members of staff are encouraged to come and meet us and to view the school before making application for a post.
