At Wayfield we inspire our children and staff to be ‘Proud to Achieve’. Wayfield is an incredible school, and we believe we are all capable of so many amazing things. We believe that our children get the best deal, and we inspire greatness from all. It is vital that we give our children as many different experiences as possible to ensure they are well equipped to succeed in today’s rapidly changing society. Our curriculum is carefully designed with the children’s specific needs and interests in mind. As a result, our children have the opportunity to experience visiting many different places both locally, wider afield across the country and Europe.

We work in collaboration with our Trust, The Primary First Trust, which currently consists of ten primary schools in Medway, Kent and Bexley. This gives us a wide support network and allows our staff to grow professionally and our children to achieve excellence.

The appointed EYFS teacher will need to be

  • Experienced
  • Supportive
  • Creative with a strong track record of teaching in EYFS
  • Experience of whole school leadership (perhaps phase leadership or core subject leadership)
  • Experience of supporting colleagues to develop their practice

To support the successful candidate, we can offer:

  • Support from the Senior Leadership Team to drive strategic improvements
  • Dedicated leadership time out of class
  • Support to keep up to date with best practice, through The Primary First Trust networks and affiliated national bodies.

You would be joining a supportive and friendly staff team, the most amazingly polite and hardworking children and supportive parents and carers. We support our staff with their professional and career development through routine coaching meetings with the Head Teacher and access to nationally recognised CPD such as the NPQ programme. Our aim will be to encourage and nurture your drive to develop into the very best teacher you can be whilst also developing your capacity as a school leader.

In addition to class teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will also take responsibility for the leadership of the EYFS, comprising of two Nursery and two Reception classes. The right candidate will aim to grow and develop their own leadership practice and the school’s growth.
