This is a 1:1 Teaching Assistant position.

Fixed term, initially until 31st August 2022.

Term time position, 20 hours a week.

We are looking for a dedicated, flexible team player to join our South Borough team as a Teaching Assistant to initially provide 1:1 morning support for a year 5 pupil. The role will be based in the classroom and will involve implementing programmes of support designed specially to meet the pupil’s needs. The school has excellent working relationships with external agencies who support with Pastoral and Educational plans.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. Ideally, you will have experience or knowledge of how to support children with Developmental Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and will be able to demonstrate previous success in working with special needs pupils. Most importantly you will be able to relate well with young children. The ideal candidate should also feel comfortable liaising closely with the class teacher, the SENCO, other Teaching Assistants and the child’s family.

The post is fixed-term, as it is dependent upon the named pupil’s continued attendance at this school and funding.

South Borough Primary School in Maidstone is currently a 2 form entry school with three classes in both Year 2 and 3. It became part of the Swale Academies Trust on 1st February 2015.
