The Governors are looking to appoint a Headteacher. This offers an exceptional opportunity for an inspirational leader to drive forward the School’s ongoing development.

The Wyvern School is a modern build, all age special school catering for 340 pupils with moderate, severe, profound and complex needs, including autism.  We have a fifteen acre site as well as three satellite provisions within mainstream schools.

The Governors are seeking a leader who:

  • Has a proven record of leadership success
  • Places teamwork at the centre of their leadership philosophy
  • Knowledgeable and well-experienced commitment to safeguarding within a SEND environment.
  • Has a thorough knowledge and deep understanding of all aspects of curriculum development, teaching standards, pupil progress in a special needs setting
  • Is optimistic and passionate about maximising the potential and outcomes for pupils with special educational needs and has the energy and imagination to innovate and constantly develop the School’s provision
  • Is an excellent communicator who will work closely with Governors, parents/carers, agencies and schools in the local area
