We have a part-time vacancy for an energetic and proactive SENCO who would like to be part of an enthusiastic, committed team. This post will be for four terms, the start of Term 1 to the end of Term 4, in the first instance, but there is the possibility of extending the role. The role is for two days per week and there is some flexibility about which days you would work. Please make it clear on your application which days you would be available to work.

Ightham Primary School received a full Ofsted inspection in 2020 and achieved an outstanding grading in all areas including early years. The report said: "The school is deeply inclusive and nurturing.
Pupils with SEND are welcomed. Staff are meticulous in making sure that the support pupils from this vulnerable group get makes a real difference. As a result, pupils with SEND achieve well."

 

We are looking for:

  • An extensive knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • A reflective, caring practitioner who maintains very high expectations.
  • A SENCO that will "go the extra mile" for each and every child.
  • An excellent role model who will motivate and inspire staff and children.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure a consistent approach both within the classroom and across the school.

Ightham Primary School is situated in an idyllic rural setting and caters for up to 210 pupils accommodated in seven classes. We place the children, who are well behaved and motivated, at the heart of everything that we do. They benefit from many opportunities to take part in the excellent range of academic, physical and creative activities that we offer, both during and at the end of the school day.

We received an Ofsted inspection in March 2020 and the school was graded as outstanding in all areas.
