Kent Range 4 - £18,517 Full Time Equivalent

Full time role: 37 hours per week, term time + 5 Staff Development Days + 1 week during school holiday periods, actual salary is £16,727.

Part time role: Please indicate your preferred weekly working hours when applying for the role.  This position is for term time + pro rota Staff Development Days + pro rota 1 week working during school holiday periods*. 

*The actual pro rota working requirements and salary will be determined by the part time working hours.

 We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our Support Staff team at St John’s.  The role requires the successful candidate to have a supportive nature, be an effective communicator and to demonstrate high levels of organisation, initiative, flexibility and professional standards.

The Technician role requires you to:

  • Support students safely and proactively in practical lessons.
  • Be committed to helping students achieve to the best of their ability.
  • Have a good understanding and be passionate about the subjects taught within the department, including; GCSE/A Level Design Technology, BTEC Engineering and Electronics, SEG Car maintenance and DIY skills.
  • Provide professional and reliable support to teaching staff; ensuring learning resources and activities are stocked and prepared, setting up classrooms for practical exercises and assisting students in practical lessons.
  • Maintain the machinery, equipment, workshop and preparation rooms to an excellent level.
  • Ensure the health and safety standards of the department are met and maintained.

Appropriate training will be provided for the role and a probationary period will apply.
