About the role: We have a great opportunity to join a highly effective, high performing Science Department at The Hundred of Hoo Academy. Vacancies in this team are rare, as colleagues thrive in an atmosphere rich in collaboration and support. This high performing team are often drivers to whole Academy improvement. We are looking for talented and passionate Teacher of Science, who truly wishes to inspire our pupils.

Working with our academy: The Hundred of Hoo Academy is a secondary school at the heart of the community and our small school model ensures that each and every student gets the personal support and challenge they need to reach their full potential. The academy is divided into three colleges – Athena, Forseti and Neptune each having their own personality and range of specialisms, allowing them to be unique.

The Hundred of Hoo Academy is a high achieving institution. Our last Ofsted inspection notes “Leaders’ clear determination and unwaveringly high expectations ensure a culture of continual improvement.”, that Hundred of Hoo’s “well-established learning routines support teachers’ high expectations for pupils’ conduct and engagement with their learning”. We were graded a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ leadership and behaviour and it is our vision to become ‘Outstanding’ in every category.

Information about the trust

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2023, our Trust comprises 31 geographically organised academies (14 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 3,000 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.
