Hours of work: 08.00 – 16.00

 

We are looking to appoint a Lead Science Technician, working primarily in the Chemistry and Biology departments, but coordinating the provision of technical support across all sciences.   The main responsibilities of the post will be to support the teaching staff in the provision of teaching resources, ordering and managing supplies, maintaining equipment and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the department.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding in all aspects of Science, which can include a specific specialism. You will need to be an experienced science technician with the enthusiasm to support and motivate young people and the ability to lead as a positive role model. You will need to manage your own and your colleagues’ workflows as well as providing high quality support to students and science teachers.
