Fair Access are recruiting full time (37 hours per week) 2 x Term Time Only (40 weeks per year) Wellbeing Support Officers, to provide one to one delivery of tuition as part of an Education Programme.
We are seeking to recruit qualified Wellbeing Support Officers to provide 1:1 individualised sessions as part of an Education Programme’s offer to vulnerable learners in a variety of localities within Kent.
The Education Programme is an interim service providing bespoke tuition packages to children and young people (CYP) in Key Stages 1-4. These CYP are without a school place due to exclusions; or will have an EHC Plan awaiting a place at a named provision.
The wellbeing and inclusivity of our cohort is integral to the delivery of the service The whole team focus on delivering child centred educational and well-being activities whilst supporting and improving educational outcomes. You will plan and undertake personalised, relevant and wellbeing focussed activities with pupils within an agreed individualised programme and under the overall direction and supervision of a qualified tutor. The individualised programme offered to a CYP may comprise of 1:1 face-to-face sessions, online live 1:1 sessions delivered using Microsoft Teams or a Blended offer using a combination of these methods.
You will be a passionate individual, experienced in delivering positive outcomes, who can support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Underpinning the work of the Wellbeing Support Officer is enabling the CYP to understand and regulate their behaviours and emotions, building resilience and self-confidence, and supporting with a toolkit of strategies which will better equip them to access the curriculum.
You will require excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage challenging situations, and the ability to communicate clearly and successfully both verbally and on written records and reports.
We are seeking candidates who are motivated, reliable, empathetic, and keen to rise to the daily challenges of supporting and championing vulnerable learners. At times, our pupils may communicate through challenging behaviour, so it is important that candidates have the personal resilience to start each new day with a positive attitude and a fresh beginning brimming with new opportunities for their allocated pupils.
The Education Programme maintains a CPD programme for the whole team, including regular training on high incidence SEND.
