Job Description

Due to the expansion of our service Fair Access are recruiting full time (37 hours) tutors, to provide one to one tuition as part of an Education Programme in a variety of localities throughout Kent.

Fair Access are recruiting 1 full time (37 hrs a week TTO) tutor, to provide one to one tuition as part of an Education Programme in a variety of localities throughout Kent.

The Children & Young people accessing the programme are without a school place due to exclusions, or have a EHC plan and are awaiting a place at a named provision as part of an Education Package. You will work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate appropriate learning programmes within a framework agreed and under the overall direction and supervision of the Education Programme Co-ordinator.

You will be required to work collaboratively with Schools and partner agencies to ensure the most vulnerable learners have access to a range of services catered to their needs. Ultimately the objective must always be to move the pupil on to appropriate fulltime education as soon as possible ensuring they are placed ‘on roll’ at an appropriate education provision with minimal delay.

You will be able to evidence relevant experience in working with vulnerable learners, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to manage challenging situations, and the ability to negotiate successfully.

Whilst you will be based in Sessions House in Maidstone, you will be required to provide tuition in a variety of locations across the whole of Kent.
