10 Top Indoor Play Areas in Kent

When it is cold and raining, it can be difficult to know what to do with the kids. So we have scoured the county for the best indoor play areas and activity parks that offer that extra special something to keep your little ones and big kids entertained whatever the weather. 

Dinotropolis, Bluewater

Be transported back in time, to the long forgotten land of Dinotropolis! A dinosaur adventure park like no other, which promises to amaze little ones with a host of dino fun. Meet the herd of animatronic dinosaurs, go wild in the dinosaur jungle, dig for fossils, build volcanoes and power yourself around the raptor run! Finish your prehistoric play session in the Fossil Café for a bite to eat or two!

Opening times: Sessions last for 90 minutes and start at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. On some holidays and some Saturdays there is also a session at 7pm. 

Prices: Child 19 months+ £13.00, Adults £5, charges are sometimes applicable to infants under 19 months. Sessions last 1.5 hours.

Gravity Trampoline Park, Maidstone and Bluewater 

With sites in Maidstone and at Bluewater, Gravity is the perfect way to let your children burn off some of their endless energy whatever the weather.  Children, teenagers and adults can bounce to their hearts content on the multitude of extreme trampolines. Try out the dodgeball courts, air bags and slam dunk zones for plenty of fun for all the family. 

Gravity also offer parent and toddler sessions and sessions for SEN individuals. They also offer trampoline fitness classes if your looking to spring into 2023 with a new healthy living regime.

Prices: Open jump price is £13.50 for 1 hour time slot. Parent and toddler and SEN sessions start from £5 for 1 hour. Safety socks must be purchased costing £3 per pair but can be reused at later visits . 

Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park, Chatham

Inspired by the hit TV show - Ninja Warrior UK, this indoor adventure park is suitable for older children and the adventurous at heart! Develop your ninja skills and conquer the obstacles by jumping, climbing and balancing your way to the top!

Opening times: Monday to Thursday 12pm -7pm, Friday 12pm -8pm, Saturday 9:30am - 8pm, Sunday 9:30am - 7pm

Prices: £12.95 per hour during peak times, £12.95 for 2 hours during off peak sessions.

Adventure Kidz, Aylesford

Adventure Kidz in Aylesford is not just your ordinary play area, it has a host of extra facilities to keep children of all ages entertained. Climb on the indoor high ropes, zoom around the quad bikes course, enjoy the large soft play area, with plenty of slides to keep the most adventurous children happy and don’t forget to score some goals in the football zone! 

There is a specific toddler area for little ones that also has sensory play which is fantastic for babies or for children with additional needs. There really is something for everyone. 

Opening times: 7 days a week from 9.30am until 5.00pm

Prices: Adult £3.95, Children under 1 £2.95, Children aged 1-3 years £6.95, Children ages 4-12 years £8.95. Sessions last for 2 hours.

Little Street, Sevenoaks and Maidstone

Little Street offers a creative and imaginative play experience for little ones. Each setting is a miniature town allowing children to play grown up and let their imaginations run wild. The indoor play town features a theatre, veterinary centre, supermarket, construction site, beauty salon and pizza parlour. There are plenty of ride on vehicles, a large fire engine for aspiring young firefighters, and a post office with delivery points around the town. Little Street is a firm favourite for little ones and pre-schoolers.

Little Street can also be found in Maidstone Town Centre and offers many of the facilities as the Sevenoaks site.

Opening Times: We are open 7 days a week offering 4 x 85 minute play sessions daily. Sessions available are 9:15 – 10:40, 11:25 – 12:50, 13:35 – 15:00, 15:45 – 17:10. Maidstone sessions may differ. 

Prices: £5.95 per person, applicable to adults and children. Babies in arms/non-walkers do not need a booked space and are free of charge. There are some discounted sessions for post nap play, visit the Little Street website for further information.

Clip ‘n Climb, Tonbridge 

Clip ‘n Climb in Tonbridge offers a fun packed experience for adventurous kids and adults alike. The centre has 44 individual and multi climber wall challenges of varying design and difficulty, can you make it to the top?! You will also find a vertical drop slide and stair way to heaven climbing challenge, making this centre perfect for all those little daredevils in the family!

The minimum age for the climbing walls is 4 years old but little ones are able to play in the free soft play area. Visit the website for more information and for safety guidance. 

Opening Times: Weekdays 2:00pm – 7:00pm, Saturday: 9:00am – 7:00pm, Sunday: 9:00am – 6:30pm. During term time the centre is closed on Mondays. 

Toddler Sessions Wednesday and Friday 10.00 – 11.30am

School and Bank Holidays: Monday – Sunday: 9:00am – 6.00 pm

Prices: Children and adults aged 4 upwards - £16, drop slide and stairway challenge are charged extra.

Kidz Planet, Folkestone 

Kidz Planet is a space themed play universe, that will keeps your kids entertained for hours! In addition to all the usual soft play equipment, your little space explorers will also uncover a 4m vertical drop slide to test the bravest astronauts! Will they shoot some unfriendly aliens with the ball cannon or climb aboard the rocket train? 3, 2, 1, blast off!

Fancy a trip into hyperspace? Hyperspace laser tag can be found nearby for even more space themed fun!

Inflate n’ Play, Canterbury

Inflate n’ Play is described as Canterbury’s best indoor soft play area. With a 6500 square foot inflatable bounce park you can see why! Can you scale Meteor Mountain, who will win the race through Lab Rat Run, or will you be brave enough slide Atomic Falls?

The inflatable arena is fun for all the family, mums and dads shouldn’t expect a quiet sit down when there is so much crazy excitement to be had!

Role Play Rascals, Faversham

What will your little one be today? An astronaut, mechanic, pirate, superhero or unicorn?! The choice is theirs at Role Play Rascals! With plenty of different themed areas to explore, little ones will have a great time dressing up and letting their imaginations run wild in a world of let’s pretend. Suitable for children up to the age of 7. 

Role Play Rascals won Twinkl’s award for Best Family Day Out in 2022.

Opening Times: Sessions are 9:30 -11:20 and 12:00 – 2:00 Tuesday – Fridays and weekend sessions are 9:30 -11:20, 12:00 – 2:00 and 2:30 – 4:30.

Prices: £6.50 per child accompanied by 1 free adult 

Monkey Bizz, Strood

Keep your little monkeys out of mischief for a few hours, with a trip to Monkey Bizz! With plenty of fun to be had on the multi-level play frame, slides and play equipment you might even be able to read a few chapters of your book! Little monkeys can explore Tots Town which includes soft play,  mini maze and a baby corner. 

Monkey Bizz also offers a segregated area for your children to play a variety of sports, the combination of soft foam balls on offer coupled with the choice of basketball, netball or football to keep older children happy.  Pick up a snack or lunch at the café which also run arts and crafts sessions and baking activities during the week.
