If you’re stuck for things to do to keep the kids entertained for 6 weeks, we’ve rounded up 14 events taking place in Kent this summer. From castles trails to outdoor theatre and arts and crafts, there’s plenty going on in the Garden of England!1) Jousting Events at Hever Castle – Various datesThe annual Summer Jousting Tournaments at Hever Castle will take place on selected dates through July and August. Crowds will be entertained with action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic jousting arena!Jousting is included in normal admission price.2) Summer Fun at the Farm, The Hop Farm - 20th July – 1st September Join Hopper the Rabbit at The Hop Farm Family Park over the summer holidays where children can enjoy the Giant Jumping Pillows, bumper cars, face painting and more!Find the full list of events on the website.3) Knights & Princesses School at Hever Castle – 24th July - 30th August Experience what it was like to grow up and serve in a medieval royal household this summer at Hever Castle. The free classes include hands-on activities to keep little ones entertained. Event included in standard entry price.4) Summer Holiday Fun – Animal Antics at Kent Life – 24th July – 1st SeptemberMeet the animals at Kent Life this summer! From cuddle corner to owl flying and ferret racing, kids are bound to love this family friendly day out. We hope you’re not afraid of the dark… £10 per person (aged 8+), includes a drink.6) Family Craft Activities at Rochester Castle – 25th July – 30th August Fancy some hands-on craft activities this summer? Join Rochester Castle into Tower Two where the whole family can enjoy getting creative!80p per child.7) Outdoor Theatre at Upnor Castle: The Legend of King Arthur – 26th JulyPack up a picnic and head to Upnor Castle to watch the Boxtree Productions performance of King Arthur. Kids and adults alike will love this musical rendition of the legend!Adults £14.50, Children £10 (under 3 free), Family £40. 8) Summer at the Dockyard, Chatham – 27th July – 1st SeptemberWith a 70’s/80’s style beach and Doc.Yard’s Science Show, there’s plenty to discover at Chatham Dockyard this summer. Tickets are valid for 12 months and kids go for a quid until the 1st September! Adults £25, Children £1 (with a full paying adult/concession).9) Once Upon a Castle at Hever Castle – 27th- 28th July New for 2019, Hever Castle needs your help to locate a shield and a missing cat! Little ones can meet Flame the Dragon on this adventure through the Castle gardens. Event included in standard admission price.10) Animal Magic, Hall Place & Gardens – 29th July to 2nd AugustFrom the cute and cuddly to the scaled and the crawly, meet the animals at Hall Place & Gardens for an animal encounter with a difference! Adults £4, Children £6. 11) See Peter Rabbit at Kent Life – 3rd August Kent Life have a very special guest this year! Peter Rabbit will be hopping around the farm at various intervals throughout the day, while guests visit the Forest School, have a go at making a scarecrow and take the special rabbit hunt… Adults £9.95, Children (3-15) £8.25.12) Clash of Romans at Dover Castle – 3rd- 4th AugustVisit Dover Castle this summer to watch the Roman Empire’s finest soldiers compete in a show of skill and strength!
