Bonfire Night - Fireworks Displays in Kent

Remember, remember, the 5th of November, with these top Bonfire Night fireworks displays in Kent.

Gone are the days when Bonfire Night just meant waving a few sparklers whilst watching a couple of Catherine wheels twirl high above you. Now fireworks come with funfairs, live music, pop-up food and drink stalls and laser shows. So wrap up snug and head to one of the county’s many bonfire displays this weekend. 

Whether you just fancy staying close to home at your local community centre or you want to treat the kids to more of a spectacle, Kent has an abundance of events planned throughout the weekend. Here’s our guide to firework displays and bonfire night events across Kent:

Friday 2nd November

Bearsted, Nr Maidstone

The spectacular fireworks display returns again thanks to Bearsted Parish Council and will be set to superhero classic tunes this year as decided by the public. Bearsted Scouts will be selling hot dogs and burgers, as well as other food and drink stalls and glow sticks will be available for the kids.

When: Friday 2nd November - gates open at 6pm, with fireworks from 7.30pm.

Where: Elizabeth Harvie Field, Behind Holy Cross Church, Bearsted, Maidstone, ME14 4HR

Prices: £8 for adults, £5 for children, £20 for a family ticket, with under fours going free. Tickets can be purchased online here.

Brenchley and Matfield

The family fireworks display is hosted by the Brenchley and Matfield School PFTA and includes a BBQ, licensed bar, hot and cold drinks, glow/led items and more.

When: Friday 2nd November - gates open at 5.30pm, with fireworks from 6.45pm.

Where: Brenchley Memorial Hall, Brenchley Road, Tonbridge, TN12 7NX

Prices: Advanced tickets have now closed, but tickets can be bought on the gate for £5 per person, with children under three free.

Dobbies Garden Centre

Enjoy an evening at your local Dobbies, and indulge in a choice of street food, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Once the display has finished you can indulge in a late-night shop and view their new Christmas range. 

When: Friday 2nd November - open at 5.30pm, with fireworks from 7.30pm

Where: Dobbies Garden World, Rutherford Road, Eureka Leisure Park, Ashford, TN25 4BN

Prices: For street food and fireworks, adults are £9.95 and children £6.95. For just fireworks, it is £5 for adults and £3 for children.

Minster Recreation Ground

The annual fireworks are funded by Minster Parish Council and marshalling will take place courtesy of the Royal British Legion.

When: Friday 2nd November from 6pm

Where: Minster Recreation Ground, St Mildred's Road, CT12 4DE.

Prices: Free

Pembury

Get down to this free event with the kids, where you will find a DJ, food and sweet stall, glow sticks for sale and tea and coffee supplied by Pembury Athletic Youth Football Club.

When: Friday 2nd November - gates open at 6.30pm, with fireworks from 7.30pm.

Where: Lower Green Recreation Ground, Pembury, TN2 4DZ.

Prices: Free but donations to help cover the cost of the event are encouraged.

West Farleigh

At West Farleigh, not only will there be fireworks, but also a live stage with music, bands, refreshments, a bar, stilt walkers and food outlets.

When: Friday 2nd November - gates open at 5pm, with fireworks from 7.15pm.

Where: Elmscroft Park, Charlton Lane, West Farleigh, ME15 0NU

Prices: Advanced tickets cost £8.50 for adults, £4.99 for children, £24.99 for a family, with under fours free. Tickets on the gate will cost £10 for adults and £5 for children. Advanced tickets can be purchased here.


Saturday 3rd November

Allington, Maidstone

This year is their 20th annual Fireworks Spectacular. Along with the fantastic fireworks, there will also be a funfair, hot and cold food and a licensed bar.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - gates open at 6pm with fireworks from 7pm. 

Where: Allington Community Association Club, Castle Road, Maidstone, ME16 0PZ

Prices: Advance tickets cost £8 each or £25 for a family ticket, with under fives free. Pay on the gate for £10 each or £30 for a family. 

Ashford Rugby Club

The rugby club are set to wow the crowds again this year with another huge display. As well as the mega bonfire and fireworks, there will be real ales, an assortment of food stalls and 3 outdoor bars.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - gates will open at 5pm, bonfire lit at 7pm and fireworks from 7.30pm.

Where: Ashford Rugby Club, Canterbury Road, Kennington, Ashford TN24 9QB

Prices: Advanced tickets cost £6 for adults, £3 for children, £15 for a family ticket, with under fives free. Pay on the gate for adults is £8, children is £4 and family is £20. Get advanced tickets on the Ashford Rugby Club website.

Benenden

Enjoy entertainment, a barbecue, refreshments with licensed bar, real ale and soft drinks, as well as their traditional bonfire and dazzling fireworks.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - gates open from 5.30pm, bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks from 7pm.

Where: Glebe Field, behind Benenden Village Hall, The Street, TN17 4DE

Prices: £5 for adults, £2.50 for children, with under fives free.Tickets can be bought online here.

Dartford Central Park

A major firework event for all the family hosted by Dartford Lions, with Northfleet & Ebsfleet Lions with a funfair and charity sideshows in attendance to keep the kids entertained.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - gates and funfair open at 5pm, bonfire lit at 7.15pm and fireworks from 8pm.

Where: Dartford Central Park, Dartford, DA1 1EU

Prices: £6 for adults and £4 for children, with under fives free. Advanced tickets are £1 cheaper and on sale in local shops.

Doddington, Nr Sittingbourne

The popular event, will also have a sparkler area where you can purchase sparklers, hot food, free parking and a licensed bar.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - open from 5.30pm, with fireworks at 7pm.

Where: Palace Farm, Down Court Road, Doddington, Sittingbourne, ME9 0AU

Prices: £6 for adults, £2 for children, with under fives free.

Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells

The event has been running since 1957 and is the town’s largest single annual event each year. The fireworks spectacular attracted 10,000 people last year and so tickets are likely to sell out quickly. Alongside the display, there will be food and drink as well as fairground rides organised by the local Round Table.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - gates open at 5.30pm, with fireworks from 7pm.

Where: Dunorlan Park, Halls Hole Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, TN2 3QN

Prices: Advance tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for children, with under fives free and can be purchased on the Tunbridge Wells Round Table website. Money raised from ticket sales goes to a chosen charity each year.

Edenbridge

The annual Edenbridge bonfire celebration has become well known for its two 10m tall effigies (Guy Fawkes and a Celebrity guy) which are thrown on the bonfire every year. The evening starts with a torch-lit parade through the town along with many brightly lit carnival floats, costumed walking parties, and marching bands.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - torch lit carnival parade from 6.30pm, with fireworks from 8.30pm. 

Where: Edenbridge Recreation Ground, Coomb Field, Edenbridge TN8 5HL

Prices: Advance tickets cost £6 for adults and £3 for children and can be purchased in local shops. Tickets bought on the gate will be £8 for adults and £4 for children.

Quex Park, Nr Birchington

The annual display has a marvel theme this year, with an appearance from well-known characters such as Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, who will be available for pictures and meet and greets. The event also includes a funfair, craft marquee and plenty of family entertainment.

When:  Saturday, 3rd November - gates open at 2pm, first display at 6pm, bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm with the main fireworks  display at 7.15pm.

Where: Event field at Quex Park, Park Lane, Birchington, CT7 0BH

Prices: £13.50 for adults, £11.50 for children, a family ticket for £45 and under fives go free. Tickets can be purchased here.

Tyler Hill

There are fairground rides, a coconut shy, tombola and hoopla stalls, as well as a variety of glow in the dark products, which will certainly make you stand out from the crowd! The event has live music to entertain young and old at the far end of the field, which adds to the lively atmosphere.

When: Saturday, 3rd November - gates open at 5.30pm, bonfire will be lit at 6.45pm and fireworks from 7.30pm.

Where: Tyler Hill Memorial Hall, Summer Lane, Tyler Hill, Canterbury, CT2 9NJ

Prices: Advanced tickets are £8 for adults and £4.50 for children, with under threes free. Tickets can be purchased on the Tyler Hill Bonfire website. Gate tickets prices are slightly higher.


Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November

Kent Life

Prepare to be amazed and the Kent Life fireworks spectacular, with fire breathers lighting the bonfire in a celebration marking the beginning of their winter festivities. The evening will be entertaining for all ages with activities including face painting, children’s fairground rides, glow sticks galore and plenty of food and drink.

When: Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November - Gates open at 3pm, bonfire lit at 6.15pm and fireworks at 6.45pm.

Where: Kent Life, Lock Lane, Sandling near Maidstone, just off junction six of the M20.

Prices: £12 for adults, £10 for children, £40 for a family ticket, with under threes free. There is a 20% discount for Kent Life members. Tickets must be purchased online on the Kent Life website and will not be available on the gate.

Leeds Castle

The ever popular fireworks display at Leeds Castle runs over two nights and  will be set to the theme of 'Dancing' this year. In the afternoon, there will be live music, falconry displays and fairground rides to enjoy. 

When: Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November - gates open at 2pm and fireworks at 5.30pm.

Where: Leeds Castle, Maidstone, ME17 1PL 

Prices: £23 for adults, £15 for children, with under fours free. Tickets must be purchased in advance from the Leeds Castle website.


Sunday 4th November

Brands Hatch, West Kingsdown

Sparks will fly on and off the track for the annual Truck Racing and Fireworks spectacular on Sunday. Unique to the Brands Hatch display is the 'twilight convoy' which sees HGVs take to the circuit with lights ablaze as the fireworks take to the sky. The event includes circus workshops, music and stunt shows plus free dinosaur shows. 

When: Sunday, 4th November - gates open from 8am with all-day racing, show-truck parade at 4.40pm and fireworks from 5pm.

Where: Brands Hatch, West Kingsdown, Longfield DA3 8NG

Prices: Advanced tickets have now closed. Tickets bought at the gate will be £25 for adults and £15 for children.

Folkestone Rugby Club

The display has been extended this year and there will be live music as well as the normal bar and BBQ as well as sweet stands. The bonfire is lit once the firework display has concluded.

When: Sunday, 4th November - gates open from 5.30pm and fireworks at 7.30pm.

Where: New Burlington Ground, Newington, Folkestone, CT18 8BH

Prices: £5 per person, or £20 per car. Tickets can only be purchased at the gate.

Offham, Nr West Malling

As well as the firework display this event has plenty to offer, with a Guy Fawkes parade, celebrity bonfire lighting, fairground rides, face painting, tombolas and much much more.

When: Sunday, 4th November - gates open at 5pm, bonfire lit at 5.45pm and fireworks at 7.30pm.

Where: Offham School, Church Lane, Offham, ME19 5NX

Prices: £5 for adults, £3 for children, £15 for a family ticket. Tickets can be purchased from Offham School office, Spadeworks and the Kings Arms.

STF Charity Fireworks, Sittingbourne

Another family fun fireworks display with plenty on offer, from fire eating, stilt acts, music and plenty of food and drink stalls to choose from. All the proceeds from this event go to local children's charity Sporting Tree Foundation.

When: Sunday, 4th November - gates open from 

Where: UKP Leisure Club, The Pavillion, Gore Ct Rd, Sittingbourne ME10 1QN

Prices: £7 for adults, £5 for children and a family ticket for £20. Tickets can be purchased here.


Monday 5th November

Spitfire Ground, Canterbury

One of the only main firework displays actually being held on the 5th November, remember, remember to head down to the Kent Cricket ground for an evening of entertainment including a funfair and live music, in association with kmfm.

When: Monday 5th November - gates open at 5pm and fireworks at 7.30pm.

Where: Kent Cricket Ground, Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence, Canterbury, CT

Prices: £8 for adults, £4 for children, £20 for a family ticket, with under twos free. Tickets can be purchased on the Kent Cricket website as prices will be higher on the gate.

Viking Bay

Coupled with the fireworks display, there will be live music and even a special appearance from the Back to the Future Delorean time machine! Hot and cold food is also available.

When: Monday 5th November - music from 6pm and fireworks at 8pm.

Where: Viking Bay Beach and Victoria Gardens, CT10 1QS.

Prices: Free
