The Pearson Teaching Award Winners 2018 - Celebrating excellence in education

This year marks the 20th anniversary of The Pearson Teaching Awards; an annual celebration of outstanding teachers which recognises the life-changing impact inspirational teachers have on the lives of children and young people in the UK.

The prestigious Silver Pearson Teaching Awards are presented to amazing teachers, teaching assistants, lecturers and headteachers for their exceptional abilities in the classroom.

Following all entries that were received earlier in the year, the results were revealed for the so-called ‘Oscars of the teaching world’ on National ‘Thank a Teacher Day’ on Friday 22nd May 2018!

A huge congratulations to Ms Kate Farrell at The Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre in Tenterden, Kent who has been recognised for her outstanding use of technology in education. Selected from thousands of nominations, Ms Farrell was one of 65 winners chosen across the country.

The silver award winners will go to the 20th annual ceremony of the Pearson teaching awards which will be held in London on October 21st 2018. A selection of these winners will then be considered for 1 of 12 coveted ‘Gold Plato’ awards.

A massive well done to all those receiving an award and nomination this year, but most importantly to everyone in the teaching profession for their unfailing commitment to education. We hope this annual event goes to show that your excellence and hard work is recognised and truly appreciated.

As part of this year’s celebrations, pupils, parents and the wider community can show teachers just how much they are valued by leaving an online message to say thanks for their continued dedication. The teacher will then receive a thank you card in the post for free.
