Are You Ready to Continue Your Learning Journey?

There is no age limit when it comes to educating yourself. Life-long learning is essential if we want to be the best possible version of ourselves; so, are you ready to continue your learning journey?

The Festival of Learning - previously Adult Learning Week, runs throughout June and dedicates an entire month to raising awareness of new learning opportunities, whilst encouraging adults to get learning again.

This year’s initiative is named, ‘Have a Go Month’ with a focus on encouraging adults to explore wonderful, free events and activities and to inspire people of all ages to ‘have a go’ at something new. Whether you already have a passion to learn, would like to try something new or are involved in supporting others with their learning, it’s time to think about how you can continue with becoming the best version of you!

There are lots of classes and courses where you can improve specific skills or learn something completely new. Studies show that the top skills that adults in the UK expressed a desire to learn include:

1) Cooking and baking

2) Playing a musical instrument

3) Learning a language

4) Singing

5) Photography

6) Dance

7) DIY

8) Art

9) Gardening

10) Creative writing

So, whether you want to learn a new language, refresh your love for sport or want to become the next Mary Berry; the opportunities are endless, especially during the Festival of Learning!

Engaging with adult education can also have huge benefits; it allows you to meet new people, helps to improve your confidence, occupies you with a hobby and generally keeps your mind active! The Festival of Learning also hosts an annual awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of adults who have used learning to transform their lives.

With over 600 events in the Festival of Learning Calendar, why not learn something new this June? The Festival of Learning website has an online calendar that makes it easy to see what’s going on in your area.
