#IMINCHARGE Video Reveal!

We are excited to share our brand new marketing video that was created following the completion of our #IMINCHARGE campaign that took place over the past 18 months. In order to support teacher recruitment, and to promote teaching as a career choice, we targeted secondary school students; the younger generation close to deciding on which career path they wish to pursue.

In the hope that eventually more teachers would enter the profession, we wanted 11 to 16 year olds to think about teaching as a career choice, as research suggested that most students wouldn’t even consider it.

Our campaign included a competition where 11 to 16 year olds were invited to share what they would do if they were in charge of the classroom. We received over 70 fabulous entries ranging from lessons with puppies in the class, to a school aeroplane to take students on holiday, even to Tim Peake delivering a science lesson in space!

After much deliberation, Tyler and Owen’s ideas were chosen! They wanted to have a giant game of manhunt against their teachers to learn survival skills and were both awarded with VR Headsets for their exciting entries!

Following this, on a cold December morning, at a location in Kent, we made our winner’s dream a reality; teachers and students went head to head, learning skills, gaining navigation techniques and working as a team in an ultimate game of manhunt.

By enabling young people to share what they would do in charge of the classroom we aimed to inspire young people to be interested in teaching and education as a career. Watch the video below to see the outdoor survival challenge in action.
