World Mental Health Day - You Matter: Six Ways to Wellbeing

In a recent health report of education professionals, 84% said they had suffered some form of mental health problem in the last 2 years. This worrying statistic got us thinking about how we can encourage all members of the school community to actively address wellbeing and maintain positive mental health.

We are partnering up with SPS to launch a wellbeing campaign starting on World Mental Health Day (Tuesday 10th October 2017), where we will be promoting good mental health within Kent schools. This yearlong campaign will be based around the six ways to wellbeing created by Live It Well. Each term we will ask schools to focus on a segment of the wheel and engage in activities that support this.

To encourage you to take part in this exciting initiative, we will be running a competition for the most inspiring efforts. Make sure to come back to the Kent-Teach blog next week to find out how you can enter the competition for term 1 and term 2, or follow our social media channels!

Want to become an Ambassador? Need inspiration? Download a starter pack which fully explains the project and gives you some helpful tips and links to useful websites. If you or someone you know in your school community currently volunteers or does something for the environment, please share with us what you do! You may volunteer at your local charity shop; religiously recycle; lift share to work; litter pick and much more! The winners will be picked and announced during the week commencing 4th December 2017.
