How to Cure the Monday Blues

We appreciate Mondays can be a struggle for everyone particularly after a fun-filled busy weekend so to help cure those regular Monday blues, here are 10 tips that will help prepare you for your working week ahead:

1. Wake Up Earlier

Yes you heard right! Getting out of bed earlier will give you more time in the morning and help you feel better prepared for the day ahead. This will also allow you more time to have a balanced breakfast and ensure you avoid those 10am stomach rumbles! Here are some healthy breakfast recipes to start your week well.

2. Positive Thinking

Write a list of things you like about your job or the school you work in. Chances are there are lots of things you actually enjoy about your role and therefore there’s no reason to feel blue on a Monday.

3. Set a Weekly Goal

Whether your goal is to walk your steps each day, sort out your car insurance or complete your marking, having a goal will keep you motivated. Having a to-do list also helps to keep you organised and gives you a sense of achievement when you tick things off.

4. Put Things in Perspective

Work can be difficult at times but there are worse things happening in the world like climate change, wars, famine, the list goes on. Therefore, that after school meeting isn’t really that bad when you think of what you could be facing.

5. Make the Most of Your Commute

Commuting to and from work can be lengthy so use your time wisely. How about learning a new skill or language on the train, taking a course on the bus or if you’re driving put on an audio book to listen to. Wasting time sitting in traffic or being delayed will be a thing of the past! Of course, you may live close by and if so, appreciate the fact you don’t have a long commute to school!

6. Prepare on a Friday for the Next Week

We are all guilty of leaving unwanted Friday tasks until Monday morning but this will only make you feel worse come Monday when you have those horrible outstanding jobs to complete. The answer is... complete your to-do list before the weekend so you don’t have these tasks hanging over you waiting to dampen your Monday morning.

7. Make Yourself a Great Lunch

Having a good lunch definitely helps me get through the day! Here are 5 simple and healthy lunch box recipes that will get your taste buds tingling!

8. Dress to Impress

Studies show if you look good you will feel good. So spend some time on a Sunday evening picking out your outfit to make you feel a million dollars on Monday morning.

9. Schedule Week Night Treats

By having an event during the week or anything you can look forward to, even if it’s just an exercise class with your friend, this will brighten up your week and give you something to focus on.
