Open Your Heart to Fostering #FostercareFortnight

Foster Care fortnight takes place from Monday 8th to Sunday 21st May and helps to raise awareness of the need for fostering. The need in Kent is high and without more carers, it is difficult to provide the stable, permanent homes which can make a crucial difference to the future of a vulnerable young person.

There are a number of options available to suit different foster carers including summer foster carers, weekend foster carers, short break carers or for the Disabled Children’s Fostering Service.

If you are interested in fostering then attend one of the below fostering events to find out more about what’s involved. These are held regularly across Kent and welcome everyone, including children and other members of your family. There is no need to book, just come along.

At the events you will be able to talk to other foster carers about their experiences and find out more about the application process. Our fostering social workers will be on hand to answer any questions you might have and to tell you more about the support and training available.
