Alcohol Awareness Week 14th - 20th Nov 2016

Alcohol Awareness Week is during 14th – 20th November 2016 and is a brilliant opportunity to raise awareness of how alcohol consumption can cause harmful effects on our bodies.

The week’s theme is, ‘Alcohol: Know the Risks’ which will focus on understanding the health risks associated with alcohol as well as the relationships between particular health conditions.

Below is an infographic that provides the new guideline information (updated by the Chief Medical Office, CMO) which was recently published in January 2016, after further research had been carried out.

For each day of Alcohol Awareness Week, the focus will be on the following medical conditions:

Monday 14th November – Alcohol and cancer

Tuesday 15th November – Alcohol and depression

Wednesday 16th November – Alcohol and dementia

Thursday 17th November – Alcohol and breast cancer

Friday 18th November – Alcohol and diabetes

Saturday 19th November - Alcohol and hypertension

Sunday 20th November – Alcohol and brain damage

We hope you join us to support this campaign and help raise awareness of the above; everybody's wellbeing is important so help spread the word.
