Scary Things to do in Kent - Halloween 2016


We've put together a list of fun Halloween events for the family and some bloodcurdling events for adults only. Who knew Kent was this scary!

Take the kids

15 - 30 October: Halloween at Penshurst

Many different spooky activities taking place including Spooky Half Term with a creepy crawlies pumpkin trail, Wicked Witches of the Wild Wood – an afternoon of scary stories around a campfire, Macabre Medicines & Surgery with a medical operating theatre, and Spooky Stories and Fancy Dress with a Fancy Dress Parade!

22 – 28 October: Witches and Wizards Academy Leeds Castle

Learn broomstick flying skills, potion concocting and spell making as part of your magical training this October half term. Join in the fancy dress competition daily with prizes to be won. Take part in the scary games, ghoulish choir and follow a super spooky children’s trail around the grounds.

22 – 30 October: Chartwell Halloween pumpkin trail

Join this eerie trail around the grounds of Churchill’s family home. Keep your eyes open for spooky happenings along the way to receive a prize at the finish.

22 – 30 October Halloween Half Term Fun at Hop Farm

Treat the kids to a spooktastic feast of fun for the half term holidays!  Dress up in your best Halloween fancy dress and come and join in! Lots of activities including pumpkin carving, creepy storytelling, magic show, disco, face painting and more!

22 – 31 October: The Mystery of the Pumpkin Ghost, Bluewater

Reports are coming in that the fabled “PUMPKIN GHOST” has returned to seek revenge on anyone standing in its way…An elite team of Ghost-busters has been sent in the deal with the problem but have vanished without a trace!! YOU ARE THE LAST HOPE!…enter the “Toy shop of Terror” Solve the mystery of the “Pumpkin Ghost” and return triumphant… If you can.

24 – 28 October: Medieval Trick or Treat, Canterbury

Join The Canterbury Tales team for a trick or treating family-friendly adventure through the medieval attraction. Activities include a ghost hunt, spooky singing, Ghoul School, Herbology, Pumpkin Zone and the Witches House.

31 October: After School Kids Halloween Party, Ramada Dover

Put on your scariest outfits for the Kids Halloween party and dance till you drop!

14 – 29 October: Screamland, Margate

Dreamland mutates into Screamland after dark this October. This exclusive evening event will immerse you in a frightening world of interactive scare mazes and sideshows set to thrill and haunt the darkest soul. Included in your Screamland ticket is unlimited use of the rides - some with an unexpected twist.

14 - 31 October: Broadwitch Hauntfest, Dartford

Terrifying immersive horror experience with five spine-chilling zones to scare your socks off!

21 – 31 October: Halloween Horrors, Fort Amherst

Fort Amherst’s annual Halloween Horrors have been described by the experts at Scare Tour UK as ‘not for the faint of  heart’ and as being ‘like something straight out of a horror film!’ by What’s On magazine... and they are as terrifying now as they have ever been!

22 October: Ightham Mote - ghost and gourmet evening

Don't miss this hugely popular and terrifying tour of Ightham Mote at night. With only the flickering of candlelight to guide you, walk through the house and listen to the stories of its past. Afterwards, relax with a 2-course buffet supper in the Mate Café.

28 October: Murder Mystery Evening at Whitstable Castle

It's Halloween in the sleepy Cornish village of Morlington Hill in 1938 and there are rumours that the German Count and Countess that have moved into Pogley Wood are vampires... Join 368 theatre company to solve the mystery of several deaths in mysterious circumstances and win a bottle of bubbly into the bargain... If you survive the night! 

28 October: Running Scared, Mote Park

A Halloween-themed fun-run through Mote Park after dark! Watch out for the ghosts and ghouls hiding in the shadows of Maidstone's Mote Park as you run, walk or jog on this family friendly fancy dress fund-raiser. Come in fancy dress and be in with the chance of winning a prize. All funds go to Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

30 – 31 October: Halloween Spooktacular - 'Kent-aminated', Kent Life

The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us, the once beautiful sites of Kent Life have been 'Kent-aminated'. The familiar buildings have fallen into disarray, Brundle's Big Top transformed into a medical tent to cope with the ever growing numbers of casualties, whilst members of staff fight to defend the historic houses from ruin.

31 October: Halloween Horror Film Night, Ramsgate Music Hall

A specially selected ‘Horror’ movie to scare the pants of you!
